Invitation to the Public
The Port of Port Angeles invites the Clallam County community to a Public Information Open-House on the Second Stage of the William R. Fairchild International Airport Master Plan Update. The Open-House will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019, 4:00-6:00 PM, at the Fairchild International Airport Terminal Building, 1402 Fairchild Airport Road, Port Angeles, WA 98363.
The meeting will feature information on the master plan process, chapter outlines, timeline, and requirements. As required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the plan update will look to the short-term of five years, mid-term of ten years and long-term of twenty years to assess the airport’s operations, safety, development needs and capital facilities requirements.
The Port’s airport consultants, Reid Middleton, will be available to answer questions and provide information. The meeting will include an opportunity for submitting comments from the public. Working Draft Chapter 4, Facility Requirements and Chapter 5, Alternatives will be available on the Port’s website: www.portofpa.com.
A study advisory committee, which represents a broad range of airport stakeholders, is working with the consultants on the update. Committee members represent the Federal Aviation Administration, Port of Port Angeles, City of Port Angeles, Airport Fixed Based Operators, Aircraft owners, and others.
The William R. Fairchild International Airport provides convenient access to the Olympic Peninsula for multiple aviation uses including privately owned aircraft, corporate jets, commuter-size planes, cargo aircraft and commercial passenger air service. Features include a precision-instrument approach, access via two runways, a terminal facility, transient apron parking, a centralized fuel storage facility, and ground support.
