Log Handling Capabilities

Logging

With one of the best deep water ports on the West Coast, Port Angeles is the center of log handling, storage and exporting on the Olympic Peninsula.  The full service log area of the Port handles an average volume of 60.5 million board feet of logs per year servicing mills as far away as Northern California. 

Right on busy shipping routes, the Port of Port Angeles is a valuable and efficient resource for log and lumber traders all over the world.  A skilled labor pool works closely with Port personnel to get the job done right, safely and on time.

Port Fill Dump

Located at the east end of the Port Angeles Boat Haven at 731 Marine Drive, the Port of Port Angeles Port Fill Dump is a busy place.  Trucks enter loaded with logs which are trans-loaded for storage on land or water and readied for shipment.  Logs are placed in rafts or stored in round booms in the harbor for barging or towing to regional destination mills.

Equipment

The Port of Port Angeles couples modern, well-maintained equipment to transfer, store, load and ship efficiently, safely and on time.  Every time.

Handling equipment:

  • Log stackers; 4-90K Wagners and 1-100K LeTorneau
  • Four to 16K capacity forklifts; 2-980 Cats and 3 boom boats
