The total economic impact of William R. Fairchild International Airport is approximately $19,714,301 per year in economic activity, with an additional $5,376,946 in payroll earnings. In addition, on an annual basis, the airport generates approximately 300 local jobs. This impact originates from a variety of aviation-related activities including general aviation (pleasure and business flights), travel and tourism. These activities have contributed to the economy in the surrounding Port Angeles, Clallam County and the State of Washington.

  • More than $6 million has been spent in federal, state and local capital improvements at William R. Fairchild International Airport in the recent past.
  • Approximately 90 aircraft are currently based at Fairchild Airport, taking advantage of our modern hangars and facilities.

Airport Highlights

The Port’s general aviation site is located on the west side of Port Angeles at the William R. Fairchild International Airport which is a handy 15 minutes from the downtown area.  Ample parking is available for free for the first 24 hours and for $3.50 for each additional 24 hour period.  Tie-downs are also available for visitors at no cost. 

Fairchild Airport offers two choices in T-hangars.  The hangars are available in two sizes; those that accommodate planes with 40 foot to 60 foot (or less) wingspan, and three twin hangars that accommodate planes with 45 foot (or less) wingspans.

Transportation Access

Air: SEATAC International Airport – 35 minutes.
Road: 15 minutes from downtown Port Angeles: Lincoln Avenue north to 8th Street, west on 8th to “C” Street, South on “C” Street to Lauridsen Boulevard, west on Lauridsen, following the road until you see the airport entrance on your right.

Utilities

Reliable, high capacity electric power is available with single phase (110 volt).
