Travel Tips

Be sure to check the status of your flight out of Port Angeles on Kenmore Air prior to leaving William R. Fairchild International. It’s also a good idea to confirm any flights you may have connecting at SeaTac Airport.

If connecting to SeaTac Airport, keep the following in mind:

In, out and off – a little advance preparation will help speed travelers through security checkpoints at SeaTac Airport.

  • IN: Put anything that might set off the metal detector in your carry-on luggage before you pass through security; that includes watches, jewelry and other metallic objects. To make this easy, airport staff at the security lines will be handing out plastic bags for just this purpose. Hint: After filling the plastic bag, put it your carry-on rather than in the plastic bins at the checkpoint. That way if anything falls out, it's in your luggage.
  • OUT: Take your laptop out of your bag before you get to the checkpoint.
  • OFF: Take off your coat before you reach the security checkpoints. Coats must put on the x-ray conveyer. Although, it's not always required, you might want to also remove your shoes. Otherwise, if they contain metal or are suspicious in any other way, you will have to go through a secondary screening.
