Commission Procedures
Port of Port Angeles Commission meetings are noticed and held in accordance with Washington State's Open Public Meeting Act. Meeting notices and Agendas are available on this Web site or through notices in Clallam County newspapers.
Commission meetings are open to the public and you are encouraged to attend. Public comment and input is taken at Port Commission meetings to provide Commissioners with information, public perspective and opinion on matters before them. Public testimony is welcome during two public comment sessions scheduled as part of the agenda for every regularly scheduled Port meeting. Port Commission meetings are held every second and fourth Monday of the month starting at 9:30 a.m.
Members of the public who wish to speak will be allowed to provide up to three minutes of comment on any agenda item. Members of the public who wish to bring an item not on the agenda to the Board of Port Commissioners' attention, may do so during either of the public comment sessions.
All public comments are tape-recorded. The identity of each speaker will be noted in the meeting minutes. Recording tapes are available upon written request for transcription or duplication.
Work Sessions
Work sessions are scheduled "as needed." When scheduled, they are held at 1:30 p.m. on a Commission meeting day.
Executive Session
The Commission may recess to an Executive Session to discuss or receive briefings from staff regarding real estate, personnel matters, litigation, or other subjects as set forth in the Open Public Meetings Act (RCW 42.30).
